30 Indigenous Designers from around the world will participate in INYFW in the heart of New York City’s Garment District at the American Indian Community House.
NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, September 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Indigenous New York Fashion Week (INYFW) will return for another week of historic events and celebrations of Indigenous excellence in fashion –– this year being included on the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. (CFDA) official NYFW Calendar. Event organizers have announced 30 Indigenous designers gathering from across the world on September 10th-15th, 2026, in the heart of New York City’s Garment District at the American Indian Community House. This year’s programming will also feature pop-up markets, a kick-off concert, and official livestreams hosted by INYFW online, and presented by the CFDA at Rockefeller Center.
Featuring 30 Indigenous designers, 120 Indigenous models, and a fully Indigenous-led hair, makeup, styling, and production team plus countless performances, INYFW –– produced by Relative Arts –– is one of the largest gatherings of contemporary Indigenous art and fashion talent ever presented during New York Fashion Week. This year’s showcases will highlight themes such as emerging voices, knowledge keepers, and thought leaders — while also featuring couture and luxury collections. Designers and showcases will be listed on the CFDA’s Fashion Events Calendar available to CFDA subscribers, a historic first for INYFW and its participants. All runway showcases will take place in the heart of the Garment District at American Indian Community House as it launches its new home in collaboration with the events. Pop-up markets will be held at the Urban Indigenous Collective, just steps away from the shows.

Designers and brands that will be featured in runway showcases include event producers, Relative Arts, alongside: Copper Canoe Woman, Hakhu, Josh Tafoya, Kené Kaya, Mobilize waskawewin, and more. Partners include Decolonizing Wealth Project, The Scherman Foundation, Made In NYC, The Urban Indigenous Collective, Indigiqueer Creative Alliance, Lenape-owned Teton Trade Cloth, Mr. Smith, and community partner, American Indian Community House. Runway showcases will kick-off on Friday, September 11th at 2:00pm EST with an opening performance by the globally celebrated collective, Indigenous Enterprise.
