Blackhawk Network (BHN), a leading global provider of branded payment solutions, today announced the launch of Game On Ontario, marking the Canadian debut of its popular Game On multi-brand gift card and setting the stage for future expansion in the region. The innovative betting gift cards are now available in Ontario, offering players a secure, convenient and compliant way to fund both online sportsbook and casino accounts with the participating operators.
As Canada’s first multi-branded betting gift card, Game On delivers flexibility for Ontario players to manage their play across multiple gaming platforms simultaneously while supporting responsible gambling practices. The cards, which do not expire or require post-purchase usage fees, can be purchased in-store or online in variable denominations ranging from $20 to $250 CAD. Once activated, players can use their card or cards to fund accounts with multiple participating licensed operators by entering their card information on any of the featured partner sites.
The cards are issued by Peoples Trust Company and function as an Ontario-specific funding solution and can only be used with licensed operators in regulated markets. Consumers can find the cards at select retailers or purchase directly at getgameon.ca.
“Game On represents the evolution of how consumers engage with online gaming,” said Kate Sullivan, Vice President, Global Consumer Products at BHN. “We’ve pioneered a solution that makes it easy to give or use value responsibly. For players, it’s a secure and streamlined way to load funds across their favorite platforms. For retailers and operators, it represents an opportunity to meet customers where they already shop—turning everyday retail touchpoints into gaming entry points, especially during key gifting moments like the holidays. Previously, a U.S. program involving four retailers that ran reward-based promotions on Game On gift cards experienced a 181% card sales increase, representing significant incremental revenue and opportunities for future customer engagement*. We anticipate Game On cards sold in Ontario may also offer incredible growth potential.”
BHN’s track record of innovation in the payments space is exemplified by Game On’s successful U.S. debut in 2020. The expansion into Canada marks a significant milestone as the brand scales to meet growing demand in one of North America’s fastest-growing online gaming markets, with Ontario’s regulated online sportsbooks generating a record CAD 102 million in sports betting revenue in November 2025 up 29% year over year on more than CAD 1.25 billion in wagers, according to Canadian Gaming Business. BHN is exploring the expansion of the Get Your Game On™ cards into other provinces in 2026, as regulations evolve.
The expansion of Game On in Canada reinforces BHN’s position as an innovator in branded payment solutions. BHN connects consumers to the experiences they value most through forward-thinking products that blend convenience, security, and regulatory compliance.
